Acoustic panels for AHAM Vastgoed offices in Amsterdam using Maharam textiles woven in African-inspired-compositions.
AHAM Vastgoed is a real estate company owned by the Sint Antonius foundation. For many years now, this foundation has been supporting projects with a direct link to the improvement of education, living conditions and healthcare in Africa.
“Our Western perception of textile design has been coloured by the expectation of seeing an identical pattern or motif repeated within a certain area of cloth. It therefore comes as a surprise to find that African artists show an extraordinary uniformity in their taste for varying the geometric with the unexpected.” Christopher Spring - Curator, British Museum of London
