Exhibition design for 'Vorm aan de Vecht' at Buitenplaats Doornburgh, a former monastery projected by Jan de Jong, pupil of monk-architect Dom Hans van der Laan.
The building, designed in the famous language of the Bossche school, uses principally brick, concrete and wood. And employs a special ratio and measure-system called the 'plastic number'.
In response to the sober architecture and its rough textures, we created a series of coloured translucent foils to be applied on the windows using the 'plastic number' proportions. The colour brings life and nature into the building making a connection between the monastery and its beautiful surroundings.
As a support for the exhibited objects Studio Stefan Scholten designed large cabinets with natural aluminium frames and glass tops using lightness and reflections to complete the exhibition.
